Why shop small?

Here’s what your hard earned money does when you buy from a small business like mine

My recent move to London made me much more aware about how I spend my dime which then got me thinking about why would someone decide to spend their hard earned money here, with me.

You know who you’re buying from

When you shop with a small vintage seller like me, you're one step away from the person who found, cleaned, photographed and packaged your item. That's me. You can message me, ask questions, read my 5* reviews (more about reviews below). Whether that’s something important to you or not, it’s a personal preference. But for me, transparency matters and when I get to shop, I want to support people that I like and respect.

This is who you’re buying from! (1993)

Your money stays closer to home

If you’re in the UK and care about local economy, you’ll be happy to read that most of my stock is sourced right here. I work with both wholesalers and picking partners who help me collect the stock. Approx. third of my stock comes from overseas (USA) because of the nature of my business.

0ver 800 buyers can’t be wrong

Since starting my online shop, I’ve sold over 800 items with an average 5* ratings on Etsy. Let me be precise - 5 is the highest score on this platform. Some of the things my customers noted are packaging, items looking like on the pictures, fast shipping, and that I’m friendly (don’t be deceived by my Easter European looks, hehe). I do not currently collect reviews outside of Etsy, please let me know if you’d like this feature on this online shop, too.

My listings are detailed and honest

I always make sure that I describe the items I list accurately. I am a nerd and I partially like to brag with my knowledge of specific styles and eras, on the other hand, I never know who’s on the other side of the screen - is it someone who knows what they’re looking for, is it a recent western wear enthusiast who’s just starting their journey with vintage? And because you can’t touch the fabric through the screen (where is AI when we need it…) or cast your eye on a flair, I always make sure to describe the condition and flaws to my best ability. I also use professional camera set up (did I mention I am a nerd?) for my pictures.

You’re getting something nobody else has

In most of the cases, that is, and especially if you shop my rare and collectible collection. There’s obviously a chance that you’ll find an identical Wrangler shirt or a pair of boots in other stores out yonder, but that’s still light years away from seeing somebody else on the street in the exact same item. There are 58 Zara stores in the UK alone, all packed with the same clothes at the same time. I’m not judging anybody who’s shopping there, all I’m saying that if you want to be unique, you have to go niche.

I’m 99.9% sure that second one like this poncho just doesn’t exist!

My vintage store is eco friendly

Apart from the fact that I’m selling clothes that have been already produced, I make sure to check green in other areas. Disposable mailing bags, paper wrapping and second hand boxes that I collect and pile in my house because I refuse to buy personalised ones (it would be cute, ngl, but I know that majority of them would be used just once) is how I ship your online orders. And that ‘thank you card’ attached to the parcel is printed locally, in Nottingham, on eco paper.

If you buy from me at the market, I’d first ask if you have your own bag. If not, I will pack your purchase in a paper one.

Lastly, I only use vegan washing detergents. If you didn’t know, commercial laundry products are packed with animal fat. Ew.

All pieces are washed and air dried by me

If it ain’t cool, I ain’t sellin’

Those of you who have been with me here since the beginnings will remember that I started this business by selling out my personal closet. When I later on decided to turn it into a proper store, I made a rule that I will be only selling what I’d personally wear. If you dig my style, my store is for you.

Your money keeps it going

Every sale means I can buy another piece to offer to you. While I obviously have other costs associated with running the store, most of the earnings go toward future stock. It’s a chain reaction - every purchase you make sends me to another car boot, another wholesaler, another source. You're not just buying one thing, you're funding the whole hunt. Cool, huh?

I ship worldwide

Just like Johnny Cash who’ve been everywhere, I ship everywhere. Or anywhere Royal Mail dares to deliver. No matter where you are, if you want to cowboy up, my curation is available to you.

Imagine that I could deliver your order like this!
