Probably one of the prettiest jackets I’ve seen!
A 1940s/50s suede jacket in tones of rust and chocolate
Made of thin and soft suede, most likely lamb or goat, and fully lined (most likely acetate), with a leather collar
I say ‘most likely’ because no tags are present
It has all the beautiful characteristics of jackets from this era: wider, padded shoulders, belted waist, a utility-style silhouette
Zipped with a Lightning zip, which runs smoothly
Condition: it shows signs of wear mainly around the cuffs; there’s a small tear in the suede on the left side back (possibly from carrying a bag on this shoulder); noticeable fold line on the cuffs - previous owner must have had them rolled; faint, but not offensive tobacco smell.
I have steamed and refreshed the lining well with high temperature and mild detergent.
Would best fit modern S/M sizes
measured flat:
pit to pit 48cm
shoulder to shoulder 38cm
sleeve length 62cm
total length 68cm
