What I wore to the Classic Carboot Sale, London, Sept 2026
The biannual event brings together classic cars and vintage lovers, showcasing their finest attire. It's also a unique chance to shop curated selections from vintage traders across the country, all in one place for the weekend. I never skip it, and so here are some snaps and my outfit details from the past weekend.
The Classic Carboot sale is not your regular carboot - it’s more of a social event, a space where you can hang out with old friends or make new ones, get a lot of great inspiration, learn about clothes and cars if that’s your thing, and on top of that, you can find some true gems - but don’t expect typical carboot prices. Most of the sellers are established brands, and they bring their finest curation down for the weekend, which, in my opinion, is a bonus - because it allows you to find something really unique, try it on and get to know the face behind the store.
I very much regret not buying this from @thurleysthrifts
If you’re serious about buying, my advice for you would be to arrive there at 10 am on Saturday, which is when the gates open. Though you’re gonna find great pieces throughout the whole weekend, the place gets quite busy pretty soon, and you’ll be ‘‘competing’’ with serious buyers, traders and people with years and years of experience. But you can also take it easy, which is what I do, and spend as much time as you like on looking, browsing and enjoying yourself while you’re at it.

My outfit for this year’s autumnal Carboot was inspired mainly by the fact that I’m moving house and have had limited access to my closet. My closet atm is this Amazon delivery box below.
My outfit for the day
I wore a 1930s suede jacket; I love this shade of bottle green for autumn; a 70s embroidered shirt, a brass and leather belt, US Army pants and Tony Lama boots; and the hat is a modern one, a 6X piece made in Texas by a brand called Twinstone; it’s a 4’’ brim in pecan. I'd describe this look as a mix of styles and eras.

If you happen to come across this brand (I don’t think they currently ship to Europe or are available in general outside of the US, but I might be wrong!), I’d encourage you to give it a try. The quality of the felt and the finishing details are stunning. I got mine at the store just outside of NYC, called The Little Ranch Boots.
