What I wore at the Classic Carboot Sale, September 2025
You either wear it true, or don’t wear it at all.
The Classic Carboot Sale, a biannual event celebrating all things vintage in London, has been a regular thing on my calendar over the last few years. Rain or shine, it’s a day when I get to see some of the fellow traders, meet with friends and acquaintances, shop a little, and just spend a day among beautifully dressed people. And the latter is what makes the day so fun and unique!
Purchase of the day!
Since the previous spring edition, I started documenting some of the looks, but this video doesn’t give the day its full justice, as it’s only as much as I can witness and capture. If you’ve been to the function, you’ll be well aware of the attention to detail, creativity, and class some attendees put into their outfits, whether they’re into 1920s, 70s, or rockabilly. Western wear fans are also represented strongly. I’m pretty sure that each time I see more and more cowboy hats, and yes, I turn my head around every single one of them!

I have already worn this whole outfit a few times before, but I’ve 0 shame in repeating it - one thing about me, I don’t hoard. I only keep items that I really love and would wear anytime, so the rule in my closet (and I have the smallest double Ikea closet, so you can imagine how many or few items can fit there) is that if I didn’t wear a particular thing once in the past 6 months, we’ll be parting. It works for me and I never regretted getting rid of anything.
