Rolling with the wind, like a tumbleweed; March 2026
Cold fingers stiff in the mornin'
By noon it's a hundred and three
Wind blows the dust just like buckshot
And I ain't never seen it rain much out here
I find so many similarities in how I live my life with the lyrics of those old cowboys songs… Am I romanticising it too much?
I even started dressing like my spaghetti western heroes!
Market life in March
Pretty much same as every other month, with the ‘when will it start to feel warmer?’ being the number 1 question between the traders. And none of us have the answer. Apart from that, whether it’s a good or shitty day sales-wise, I’m usually just vibing. Unless I forget to pay for the parking, then it’s Kensington & Chelsea Borough who’s vibing on my expense. Best lessons in life are those that were painful in some way, ain’t that right?
This is what I mean when I say that I’m under the canopy (below). Market is pretty big and it also stretches up the Portobello Road, so if you’re making your way and can’t find me, send me a message on insta and I will direct you :)
I must have said it a few times already, but part of the reasons why I enjoy working in this place is because it is so inspiring. Each of those folks took their own take on western wear and workwear and it is so unique and cool. Y’all know I’m not a dress person, but seeing how this Texan girl styled her prairie piece, I’m on a hunt now. If you see something similar out yonder, send it my way, pls!
Lots of new ins at the stall. I bring some new pieces to the market every week, with some of them being unlisted, so if you see something here that you like, don’t be shy to ask.
Honky tonkin’ in Mayfair
Once again (it turns out to be a regular thing) I’ve had the pleasure to cross paths with Alan Power & The Take Twos, the coolest country band this side of the pond. The boys took over Mayfair and I took this 70s three piece Florida-made suit out for a spin.
One could think it’s Austin or NYC, but it’s Mayfair. I love seeing how this city opens up for more country & western experiences. More hats on the streets, less ‘yeehaw’ yelled my direction - I see no flaws.
Back at the ranch
Back at the HQ, I’ve doing what I do best - packing my Ikea bags and shooting pieces for the online drop. Anytime I pack the blue bag up, my dog knows what’s coming and she’s just tagging along.
I’ve had two big deliveries this month and I’m currently processing the latest one. The next online drop will happen on Sunday, March 5th, 7pm UK time and below is a little preview of what’s coming.
What I wore in March
I kept juggling what I have, mainly because I want to test my boundaries. Example of that was this fit in the middle with red flares and a tie. I also wore my Rodeo Ben shirt one day; I am super careful with this piece but at the same time, what’s the point of having it and keeping it in the closet? I’m not a collector and it’s my size. I do feel super special when I have it on, too. Mainly because I know (most likely) nobody on the planet has another one of those! I never said I was humble.
This is the suit you’ve seen above, middle fit: my trusted 60s Levi’s jacket, 70s Lee denim jacket and a new piece in my closet, this tie front shirt. It was supposed to be made of suede and I was supposed to sell it, but it reminds me so much of the shirts worn by folks in those 60s western movies, and I have nothing like that in my personal closet, so it’s a keeper. Right - and y’all can laugh, but I was cold, I’m wearing a Gymshark hoodie, paired with my second skin (the jacket I will wear till it rips apart), my selvedge jeans, and 70s ACME boots.
There was another cool fit I pulled and I haven’t documented… So I will take this excuse to re-wear it soon, man, did I feel like a rich woman from Dallas…
Red suede (!) flares and cowhide coat
Well, I can’t pretend that this didn’t happen. The last week’s wind was so annoying, cutting through all the layers, I had no shame putting on this final boss to survive. Blankets are listed here, they’re not only cool, they’re lifesaving!
Thanks for reading and see you out yonder! <3
